Now more than ever, we live in a world that is chaotic, stressful and uncertain.  Being able to deeply relax, de-stress and rejuvenate is so important. Join us in our weekly Yoga Nidra Classes, where we do just that! We offer Yoga Nidra every Wednesday at 5:30PM EST.

Read below to learn more about this wonderful practice...

I first discovered Yoga Nidra during a very stressful time in my life. I was in the midst of a difficult and brutal divorce. I had an appointment with Mandhavan, a senior student of Sri Krishnamacharya, who was in New York for a short period of time. He saw people only privately and through recommendations. The Yoga Nidra practice that I was taught was a gift when I needed it the most. I consider myself lucky to have had the opportunity and I am excited to share it with my students.

As defined by an article in the Yoga Journal, “Yoga Nidra is an ancient but little-known yogic practice that's becoming increasingly popular as both a form of meditation and a mind-body therapy. It is a systematic form of guided relaxation… It often brings immediate physical benefits, such as reduced stress and better sleep, and that it has the potential to heal psychological wounds. As a meditation practice, it can engender a profound sense of joy and well-being.” Yoga Nidra “allows us to feel no separation, that only sees wholeness, tranquility, and well-being.” (Griffin, 3 Apr 2018) https://www.yogajournal.com/meditation/reflections-of-peace

Yoga Nidra restores the nervous system very deeply. When we struggle to keep up with the increasing challenges of our daily life, we are functioning constantly in the fight or flight mode. We often don’t know anything else or it is very difficult to switch off that mode to a restorative state. The guidance into deep relaxation helps switch our nervous system through a totally different length of healing brain waves. Our brain releases toxins as we relax and restore during sleep. Our stress level is reduced. We feel our mind cleared and light after the session.

In case you are wondering what to expect, each Yoga Nidra class is slightly different but includes the 61-point deep relaxation practice. Classes explore different ways of releasing, letting go, relaxing and rejuvenating. You can do the class on a Yoga mat or in your bed. This practice invites you to welcome your whole being for immediate and lasting effects in peace, wellbeing and transformation.

We hope to see you in Yoga Nidra practice! You can join from the comfort of your own Yoga mat or bed at home.
