Happy Fall Equinox 2021!

Today, September 23, is the first day of Fall in our hemisphere. Welcome to the Fall season!

As much as we enjoy summer when we have the most opportunity to spend time outdoors, share meals outside under the shade of leaves with delight, and touch the earth and plants when we garden… As much as we want to breathe the ocean air and feel the sand brushing our feet, walk in water, swim, bike, hike or become a part of an audience in concerts and performances with friends outside... We know there is an end to that because daylight is shortening and nights are cooler. We feel it through our eyes. We have a biological switch within us that tells us the season is changing. A new rhythm starts to intuitively kick in.

Our thoughts change, the ingredients in our recipes change, our clothes and activities do too. If we are in touch with all these subtle attunements, it is easier to stay in delight and appreciation. Fall is a beautiful season and we can still benefit from the outdoors as long as we can. As time passes, each time we go out we may wonder how many more days we will be able to do that.

When we reorganize our life and reconnect with our Yoga and Relaxation classes together, we remember how beneficial it has been in the past and we crave for the inner work of centering and exploring new possibilities within and with our classmates. We check on each other in the present moment on a regular basis, we share a kind of intimate expression of ourselves with people who have like-mindedness in generating healthy vibes. We prolong the benefits of being able to nurture our strength season after season, year after year.

The last full moon of summer was just a day before the equinox. We still have plenty of energy to settle down into this new season that will not resemble any other. We can feel anxious to always move into the unknown and uncertainty. Life itself wants it that way. If fear overrides our faith, we can expect unwanted results. In that case, let’s pause for a moment and ask ourselves what this fear is about. Where does this fear reside in our body? Answer the question very honestly. When we answer this question, we feel a movement of energy that is transformative. Breathe and let go.

Let our faith guide us towards the fulfillment of our deepest desires and give us the stability to overcome challenges that may show up in our lives. Namaste!
